The 2014 World Cup isn't even into the knockout rounds yet and it's already gifted us with a whole bevy of things to talk about: crazy hairstyles, Rihanna's fandom, and all of the stylish gear it has inspired. Now designer soccer balls can be added to that list. Pharrell, Rick Owens, Roberto Cavalli, Missoni, and more put their individual spins (LOL, get it?) on the 2014 Adidas World Cup soccer ball for the Gol de Letra Foundation, an organization that benefits Brazilian youth.

As you would expect from that list of names, the results are pretty wild. The ball is almost unrecognizable in the hands of Missoni, who cut and reimagined the ball as a lotus flower. True to his style, Roberto Cavalli went with a maximalist approach, icing his with a gold and black crystal zebra motif. Rick Owens took a more gothic route, scrubbing out most of the color on the original ball and marking it up with a witchy character (Winston, is that you?).

On the end of the design spectrum, Pharrell went in a more minimalist direction, simply adding one of his now-signature childlike doodles. IMHO from a purely functional standpoint, he nailed project. I mean, the rest are pretty to look at but Pharrell's is the only one you could kick around guilt-free. Plus, it'd be super easy to coordinate the ball with your kicks. See: Pharrell's doodled Stan Smiths sneakers.
